Teaching the Korean War

Since today is Veterans Day, I thought it would be appropriate to share one of the projects I have been working on for some time. The Korean War has been branded the "Forgotten War" in the United States. However, those who fought, died or had their lives forever altered by the catastrophe there will never forget it. I have been working with the Korean War Legacy Foundation, Inc., on an education website designed to make it easier for American teachers to teach the war. The foundation has compiled oral history interviews of over 500 veterans. My job was to write seventeen chapters that bring the war and its legacy to life for students, weaving oral history video clips into the narrative. The site is still a work in progress, and I still have more writing to do, but here is a preview. The chapters are broken out under the "Memory Bank" and "Legacy" sections. Regardless of geopolitical agenda, I think it is important for these stories to be accessible, as this war is one that we should remember. Let me know what you think, and please share with anyone you think might be interested.
